Product Description Five performance modes are available for the MFC: Fax,
Printer, Copier, Scanner and PC Fax in the MFC 4550 plus.
Printer Specifications
Emulation Brother Printing System for Windows®, emulation mode of
HP LaserJet IIP (PCL level 4).
Printer Driver Windows® 3.1/3.11, Windows® 95 and Windows NT®
Workstation Version 4.0 driver supporting Brother Native
Compression mode and bi-directional capability
Optional Macintosh driver available for System 6.0.7 or
higher
interface Bi-directional parallel
RS-422A/RS-232C serial interface (RSIOOM) is available as
an option.
Memory 512 KB
Expandable: 1 MB or 2 MB optional memory board
Printer Method Electrophotography by semiconductor laser beam scanning

Print Quality Normal printing mode
Economy printing mode (saves up to 50% of the normal
toner usage)

Six pages/minute (when loading A4 or letter size paper from
the multi-purpose sheet feeder)

1.000 pages/starter toner cartridge
(USA, Canada and some other areas only)

NOTE: Toner life expectancy will vary depending on the
type of average print job printed.

Life Expectancy: 20,000 pages at 20 pages per job
8.000 pages at 1 page per job
NOTE: There are many factors that determine the actual
drum life, Duch ao temperature, humidity, type of
paper and toner that you use, the number of pages
per joint job, etc.
