Manual and Automatic Fax Redial
If youre sending a fax manually (with external telephone) and the line is busy, press Redial/Pause
and then press Mono Fax Start to try again. Anytime you want to make a second call to the last

If youre sending a fax automatically and the line is busy, the machine will automatically redial up
to 2 times at 2 minute intervals for Australia or up to 2 times at 3 minute intervals for New Zealand
(10 times at 3 minute intervals for some countries).
Pause
Press Redial/Pause to insert a pause between digits to be dialled.

Manual Transmission (With an External Telephone)
Manual transmission lets you hear the dial tone, ringing and fax receiving tones before sending a fax.
1
Insert the document face up in the Automatic Document Feeder, or face down on the glass
platen.
2
Pick up the handset of the external telephone and listen for a dial tone.
3
Enter the fax number you want to call. (See Dialling a Number, page 22)
4
When you hear the fax tone, press Mono Fax Start.
5
To hang up, replace the handset of the external phone.
When you press Redial/Pause, a dash “-” will appear on the display. By storing a
pause, you can create a delay of 3.5 seconds.
