The Brother HL-4040CN comes with a number of

standard features that really do make a

difference to performance.

Secure Printing (SSL)

With confidentiality becoming an increasing

consideration, the integral ‘secure print’ feature will

prove invaluable. Secure printing uses the Internet

printing protocol [IPP]. Already widely used in

e-commerce to protect customer information,

such as credit card details. This standard feature

ensures that sensitive documents can only be

printed once a user-unique PIN has been entered

into the printer via the control panel or web

browser – eliminating the worry of your newly

printed document being picked up by the

unauthorised person or intercepted by hackers

on the network.

Automatic Email Notification

There is also automatic e-mail notification

regarding the status of the printer. If there is a

technical fault, paper jam or low toner, the

relevant person can be set up to receive an

e-mail so that action can be taken immediately,

again limiting the frustration of downtime.

SAP

The HL-4040CN also comes with SAP

printing

as standard. This allows access to more Brother

printer features than usual with other manufacturers.

Booklet Printing

Booklet printing becomes as simple and

easy as any other form of printing and creates

an altogether more professional range of

documents for both internal and external

presentations. For instance, a 32 sheet A4

document can be reduced to an A5 booklet

comprising of 8 A4 sheets.

Barcode Printing

The barcode printing function will prove

invaluable to any distribution or retail operation

with 13 standard barcode resident fonts.

Network Connectivity

Taking network links to new levels of

speed, reliability and efficiency.

This printer also comes with an integrated

10/100 Base-TX network interface, which

makes connecting your new printer to the

network effortless.

IPV6 (Internet Protocol Version 6)

The HL-4040CN supports IPv6, the next

generation Internet Protocol. IPV6 replaces the

aging IPV4. IPv6 is the solution to provide the

real Internet and ubiquitous environment.

To support current office network environments,

the HL-4040CN will support both IPv4 and IPv6.

IPV6 improvements and benefits – offers easy

auto configuration and enhanced security.

Network Management

Manageability is essential in today’s busy

network environments so Brother provides a

number of tools to help you proactively manage

your network-connected printers.

Embedded Web Server

We’ve also embedded a Web Server. This

means that, regardless of your web browser,

you can easily manage your Brother machine

via the network. To make our network

management offering complete, we provide

our BRAdmin Professional Software for

administering LAN connected printers.
